Distinguished Professor James Ogloff

Distinguished Professor James (Jim) Ogloff AM is Acting Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer at ºìõ¹åÉçÇø University of Technology. In this role, he provides leadership across the University's academic portfolio, working with colleagues to advance excellence in learning and teaching, and academic governance. Jim is the University Distinguished Professor of Forensic Behavioural Science, and he has been Executive Dean of the School of Health Sciences since January 2022. 

An internationally recognised clinical and forensic psychologist, and lawyer, Jim has more than four decades of experience spanning higher education, healthcare, and the justice sector. His career has combined academic leadership with clinical practice, research, administration and public service, including senior leadership roles at universities, forensic mental health and corrections services in Australia, Canada and the United States. His research and professional work have influenced policy and practice in mental health, forensic psychology, family violence, offender rehabilitation and child protection. 

Jim was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to education and the law as a forensic psychologist, academic, researcher and practitioner. He is passionate about fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing university community that creates opportunities for students, staff and partners to make a positive impact through education, research and innovation.
