It’s also a flexible option – take advantage of the momentum to graduate sooner or adjust your study load to suit your schedule. And if you’re switching courses or universities, midyear entry makes for a smooth transition without losing time.

Finally, the sooner you start studying, the sooner you’ll gain access to our industry connections to build real‑world experience that takes you places.

Yes, you may be able to receive academic credit – also called ‘advanced standing’ – for previous study or relevant work and life experience, helping you complete your course sooner. To be considered, you will need to complete an application form that is relevant to your situation.

Yes, you can. And we’ve found that in most cases, transferring unis or courses is easier than expected.

International students:

You may need your current education provider to approve your transfer before applying to ºìõ¹åÉçÇø. Most education providers call this a ‘release’ from your current course.

If you are a sponsored student, you must apply for a release from your current provider and include a letter from your government sponsor supporting your course transfer.

If you are transferring to ºìõ¹åÉçÇø from an international university or institution, a release is not required.

Contact your current institution to find out what is required in your situation.

There are specific application requirements depending on the kind of research degree you want to study at ºìõ¹åÉçÇø.

Entry requirements for research degrees

You can apply to ºìõ¹åÉçÇø online or through an authorised education agent.

Before you do, check that you meet the academic and English language requirements for your course and gather your supporting documents (such as transcripts and English test results).

Then, submit your application through our online portal, or via VTAC if you’re an international student completing Year 12 in Australia.

If your application is successful, you’ll receive an offer with instructions on how to accept, pay your deposit and enrol.

How to apply as an international student

Tuition fees vary for local and international students.

  • Local students may study in a government‑subsidised place and pay a student contribution (with HECS‑HELP or VET Student Loans available).

  • International students pay tuition fees up‑front, which differ by course and level.
     

Most students are required to pay a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF), which helps to improve everyone’s student experience at ºìõ¹åÉçÇø. Some courses – like aviation – have extra costs (e.g., flight training), and other incidental expenses, such as textbooks or equipment, may also apply depending on the course.

Tuition fees for students

No – there are no fees to submit an application at ºìõ¹åÉçÇø for either local or international students.

ºìõ¹åÉçÇø has a range of scholarships designed to provide opportunity, promote equity and recognise excellence, and they are available for both commencing and current students.

While some are based on academic merit or community service, other scholarships exist to support students from Indigenous backgrounds, students suffering from financial hardship or those who have relocated from regional areas to study.

If you are an international student when you apply, we will automatically consider you for a ºìõ¹åÉçÇø international scholarship.
